You may have seen television shows, movies, and other media portrayals of Alpha members at parties and participating in step shows wearing the Fraternity colors and symbols. You may have also attended parties and step shows on your campus and in the community. While these activities are a fun and entertaining part of the fraternal experience, this is not the purpose of Alpha Phi Alpha. If you are interested in joining a Fraternity solely for those reasons, then Alpha Phi Alpha is not the right Fraternity for you.
Alpha Phi Alpha considers for membership the most intelligent, well rounded, and talented men on college campuses and within the community whose personal, social and academic qualifications are acceptable to the Fraternity. Alpha Phi Alpha is not interested in the accumulation of members. The Fraternity’s emphasis, however, is in the quality, dedication and integrity of its membership.
The Fraternity reaffirms its strong opposition to discrimination based upon age, race, color, religious creed, national origin, sexual orientation and disability or the prejudice of candidates related to such matters.
